Chico Review Review

The Chico Review is a week long event for photographers to interact and get feedback on their work from other, often well-known, photographers. I think it's kind of a famous event in certain circles and seems elusive for most of us, so finding Matt Jacob's MOOD podcast with nearly five hours of interviews and discussion about Chico was pretty cool. I watched it all, and if you manage to do the same, you're in the right place.

Speaking of Eyeshot, I like their Editor's Notes.

Photographs Not Taken

At the ICP's Book Fest I saw a familiar book, Photographs Not Taken, edited by Will Steacy. It was familiar because I remember the website from ages ago and was struck then by the poignancy of the very brief stories. The idea is a collection of essays by photographers about moments that never became a picture. Will expanded the idea and compiled contributions from the the photography world, including Todd Hido, Nadav Kander, Mary Ellen Mark, Mark Power, Jamel Shabazz, Alec Soth, Amy Stein, and Mark Steinmetz.
